BYD Han 2022 surprised with a swift body design with a sloping roof. The car is made in a new corporate style of the brand called “Dragon Face”, which is characterized by the presence of a predatory “muzzle” with expressive head optics.
At the same time, the front part of the body of the electric and hybrid modifications are quite different from each other: such cars have different bumpers, fenders, hood, and even the shape of the headlights.
From the side, the car draws attention to itself with a swift and athletically folded body with a short “tail” of the trunk. By the way, because of the latter, the sedan looks more like a liftback than a traditional sedan.
The Han EV uses a new proprietary lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery design, which BYD called the “Blade Battery”, claiming to take up less space than a conventional LFP battery with the same power capacity. BYD also stressed that the Blade’s battery is safe from thermal runaway even if damaged.
The Han series sets new standards for electric vehicles around the world with safety, performance and luxury.
The 2022 BYD Han is premium, so the interior is trimmed predominantly with expensive materials, including Nappa leather, as well as aluminum and natural wood inlays.
The main feature of the interior is the 15.6-inch touchscreen multimedia system. It is made swivel, that is, it can be used both in a horizontal and vertical position. By the way, it is not required to deploy it manually – everything is done from a special button on the steering wheel.
The new BYD Han model is based on its own DM3 platform with a fully independent suspension. MacPherson struts are installed on the front of the sedan, and a multi-link is used at the rear. The electric BYD Han EV boasts excellent handling: the sedan clearly responds to the steering wheel and confidently passes sharp turns at speed.
As for the smoothness of the ride, here the “Chinese” is again able to pleasantly surprise. The suspension of the new BYD Han EV is quite energy-intensive, especially pleasing during the movement of speed bumps, in front of which you can not slow down much.
Despite the clearly sporty interior design, the front seats of the sedan are primarily comfortable. They have developed, but unobtrusive lateral support, as well as a wide range of adjustments. In the back row, legroom is almost like in limousines. In general, the second row is quite comfortable, and even three of us can sit here (the central tunnel is poorly expressed).
