In Ukraine will create a Council of Business Ombudsman
December 3 the official government website was published Government Decision on the establishment of the Council of Ukraine Business Ombudsman №691 from 26.11.2014 year. This will be a permanent body for the Ukrainian businessmen. Its main feature - the construction of a more effective system of large, small and medium enterprises on the basis of complaints against public officials from business owners (or their authorized persons). The Council will make recommendations to the authorities in the field of entrepreneurship, as well as prepare a diplomatic document with proposals to the Ukrainian bill on the establishment of state institutions business ombudsman.
The Council was created in order to protect the interests of Ukrainian entrepreneurs and prevent illegal actions of officials with respect to small, medium and large companies.
The structure of the new body will be composed of the Ombudsman directly, his deputy and secretary. According to the Resolution of business ombudsman can become not only Ukrainian, but also a foreigner. Deleted from the document norm of nationality, so nationality does not matter.
The Governing Body of the Board - Supervisory Board, which will consist of authorized persons of the three different angles:
- Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;
- International financial institutions (EBRD - European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the OECD - Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development);
- Business associations (which includes American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, European Business Association and Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine).
Each designated party has the right to vote.
Creating an entirely new reality for Ukrainian Institute of Business Ombudsman provided a memorandum of understanding for the anti-corruption initiatives in Ukraine. The document was signed by our government and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development 12 May, 2014.
Ukrainian head of the EBRD Şevki Acuner said in late November on the annual dating of the project the amount of 1.5 million euros.
