The Chinese company Geely has launched a new electric pickup truck on the local market. The model is presented not under the main brand, but under the Radar brand.
Radar is the new lifestyle brand of the Geely Group. The brand is aimed at young professionals living in large cities who want to go mountaineering and hiking on weekends.
This segment is growing rapidly in China, and many Chinese car brands are developing and launching new “lifestyle” brands and vehicles. Geely calls Radar “China’s first all-electric outdoor vehicle brand.” The company’s press release states: “Radar was created for a new generation of consumers around the world who are looking for vehicles that are as sustainable as their outdoor adventures.”
Radar RD6 is built on the new SEA platform, which is used by Geely’s most expensive electric vehicles.

The new Radar RD6 is built on the new Geely SEA platform, designed specifically for electric cars. The pickup will be available exclusively in a four-door version with a length of just over 5 m.
The pickup truck has a rather restrained design, the body is decorated with smooth lines with slightly extended wings, original optics with oblong LED headlights, a high hood, massive bumpers and a spacious cargo platform with aerodynamic wheels. The top version of the model features a black painted roof and red flared wheel arches.
Salon Radar RD6 is borrowed from the Geely Haoyue crossover and is designed for four people, but if necessary, it can accommodate 3 adults in the back. The center seat feels a bit small, but there’s plenty of legroom with a perfectly flat floor. Storage space under the bench for 48 liters.
The cabin has two separate screens: a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a multimedia system with a similar 9-inch HUD screen for the infotainment system. There is also a backlight with 72 shades and voice control. All the materials look very nice and the build quality seems to be excellent.
The electric pickup received a virtual instrument panel, a projection on the windshield and a 12.3-inch touch screen. The front seats are separated by a high central tunnel.
In terms of its dimensions, the pickup truck is close to the Toyota Hilux. In length, it reaches 5260 mm with a wheelbase of 3120 mm. Width and height – 1900 and 1830 mm, respectively. At the heart of the novelty is the SEA platform based on the Geely sustainable experience architecture.
On the roof are roof rails, a sun visor, a shark fin antenna and huge mirrors. In addition, the car is equipped with a 51-inch panoramic sunroof.
The pickup truck is driven by an electric motor with a capacity of 272 hp. Acceleration from standstill to 100 km / h takes 6 seconds. The power reserve, depending on the version, varies from 400 to 630 km.
There are three battery options to choose from:
– with a capacity of 63 kWh – a power reserve of 400 km;
– with a capacity of 86 kWh – a power reserve of 550 km;
– with a capacity of 100 kWh – power reserve 632 km;
